There are certain tables in RealWare that we recommend you update at the beginning of each year. These are recommendations only, so update only the tables you think are important to your jurisdiction. This maintenance can be done in either December or January and should be updated to the next year. For example in Dec 2005 or Jan 2006, the tables should be updated with data for 2007. Doing this will insert data into the table one year ahead of the current tax year.
The following tables can be copied using Table Maintenance in MassCalc (steps to do this are shown below the list of tables):
- tlkpAbstCodeAgLandCost (only if used) - DOR
- tlkpComCostLocalMult – CCI
tlkpIncome - COUNTY
- tlkpNbhdAdj - COUNTY
- tlkpResCostLocalMult - CCI
Steps to copy tables using MassCalc Table Maintenance:
- Open the MassCalc Application.
- From the Main Menu, click on Table Maintenance.
- From the RealWare Lookup Tables screen, click on the Other Valuation Tables tab.
- Select the table to copy from the list box on the left side of the screen.
- Enter the year to copy to in the field next to the Copy Data to New button
- Click the Copy Data to New button. The records have now been copied for the new tax year.
- If necessary, edit the data in the table using the bottom half of the screen.
- When done, click the Exit icon to return to the MassCalc Main Menu.

- tlkpAbstCode - DOR
- tlkpAuthorityFund - COUNTY
- tlkpDistrictAuthorities - COUNTY
- tlkpTaxingAuthorities - COUNTY
IMPORTANT NOTE: In tlkpAbstCode, ‘Exempt’ properties should have a -1 in the Exempt field to identify them as exempt. If they are not exempt, the entry in this field should be 0. Also verify that the Taxroll field is unchecked if the abstract should not go to tax roll or checked if it should be sent to tax roll. Steps to copy tables using RWAdmin Table Maintenance:
- Open the RWADMIN module
- Move the mouse pointer over Table Maintenance and select the table to copy (either Taxing Authority or Abstract Code)
- If you get a message warning you that the rollback segment is offline, click OK.
- On the table maintenance screen, click the Copy Tax Year button
- Enter the tax year to copy FROM in the Tax Year to process from field
- Enter the tax year to copy TO in the Tax year to copy to field
- Click the Process button
- In the Statistics section of the screen, feedback will be provided showing the number of attempts and the total entries that were copied. If any, the number of duplicates will also be shown. The number of attempts should match the number of entries copied.
- When finished, click OK to close the copy box and return to the table maintenance screen.
- Click the Exit icon to close the table maintenance screen.
